Review policy

What we require

• An overall rating, your relationship to the tool, a written experience of at least 50 characters, and confirmation of this policy.
• Genuine, first-hand experience. Suspected fake experiences are flagged for moderation, not silently deleted.
• Disclosure of any vendor affiliation in the review text itself.

One review per person per tool

You may edit your review at any time; the previous version is retained internally as revision history. Edits re-enter moderation before republication.

Moderation

Every new review and every edit enters a moderation queue. Published reviews can be flagged by readers; flagged reviews return to the queue and are resolved as published, hidden, or rejected. Moderation targets integrity problems — spam, harassment, privacy violations, undisclosed promotion, and fake experience — never mere negativity.

How ratings are counted

Star ratings are normalized to a 0–100 scale and weighted by recency (one-year half-life), integrity signals, and — modestly — verification. A Bayesian adjustment shrinks tools with few reviews toward a neutral prior so that two enthusiastic reviews cannot outrank a mature body of evidence. We display the raw average and review count publicly.

What reviews never do

• Reviews never influence ranking as a hidden second formula. If a category methodology weighs user satisfaction, that factor, its weight, and its calculation rule are published with the methodology — capped by policy guidance at a small share of the total.
• Vendors cannot edit or remove reviews. Verified vendor organizations may post a labeled official response, which is itself moderated and never alters the review's score.
• We do not sell review placement, and incentivized reviews — if ever permitted — must be disclosed and must not require positive sentiment.
