Solid editor for a large polyglot team; onboarding is nearly zero. Our gripes: larger workspaces slow it down, and a few must-have extensions have rough edges. Still the pragmatic choice for mixed-language teams who value velocity over a perfectly tuned environment.

Six years of daily backend and scripting work in VS Code. The extension ecosystem means I rarely fight the editor, remote development smooths container workflows, and settings sync just works across machines. It is heavy, and I keep telemetry off, but nothing else covers this range with this little friction.
